Date taken: May 19 2015

Camera Settings: ISO 320, f/2.2, Shutter speed 1/15
Lighting Condition: Indoor lighting
Lighting Setup: Lighting from above leading straight down the stairs

1. What aspect of your finished work do you find most successful?
An aspect that I found most successful was the way I utilized the elements and principles of design in the photograph such as line (creates leading lines to demonstrate that they are stairs and) , and repetition ( the number of stair steps are shown that they are escalating downwards). The composition of the angle of the stairs from a bird's eye vantage point also makes it effective and creates an eerie effect and demonstrates the phobia (climacophobia),
2. What aspect of your finished works do you find least successful and why?
One aspect that was the least successful was the lighting in this photograph because the large spots of lighting were too exposed, especially on the 2nd level of the steps of the stairs which distracts the depth of the declining stairs.
3. If you had to complete this assignment again, what aspect would you change/improve on and why?
To complete this assignment again, I would focus on the lighting of the photograph by adjusting the ISO through a DSLR camera, and possibly change the lighting condition. In the future I would like to improve and learn different ways of manipulating light and make it effective in a photograph.
Photographic/digital manipulation techniques used in my works and how they support my intended visual messages:
Through editing my photograph in Photoshop CS6, I created adjustment layers to my photo to adjust the contrast, exposure, and vibrance. The adjustment layers allowed me to create more depth into the photo, making it look like declining stairs. The darkness at the bottom of the stairs demonstrate the pain that people suffer from climacophobia and how they live in a dark place when they react to this phobia.
